The gym can be an intimidating place for those who are just starting out on their fitness journey. Stepping into a building furnished with large metal contraptions and endless mirrors that capture every angle possible, has the potential to amplify one’s self consciousness. Not to mention the variety of gym equipment that can appear quite daunting to someone who has never used them before. Ultimately, these factors can majorly affect one’s confidence levels and make going to the gym a difficult and unpleasant task. If this sounds like you, and the thought of going to the gym incites some form of nervousness, then there are a number of alternatives that you can explore that will not only be more enjoyable but keep you active as well.

The internet is a wonderful place with an abundance of free and informative resources for home workouts, so not only is it convenient, but it’s also an immensely cost efficient alternative to the gym.

As we currently face a global pandemic, home workout videos have skyrocketed in popularity and are freely available at a touch of a button. These videos can range from strength training to high intensity interval training with little to no equipment required. Even so, weights can easily be substituted by common household products such as a bag of flour, rice or sugar, if you don’t own the proper equipment.
