Get To Know Avvini Athlete: Alysha Welch

At Avvini Athletica, our Athletes are as much a part of our team as any staff member. We want to celebrate and empower women by showcasing all their inspiring stories and achievements. As a way to feature their talent and to get to know our Avvini Athletes, we have decided with much excitement to start a series on our blog, where we sit down, have a conversation with our athletes about their life and understand how they got to where they are now.

We recently spoke to one of our Avvini Ambassadors to get to know her a little bit more and showcase why she’s a part of our team. Alysha Welch is from Melbourne, Australia and has created her own dream business, coaching women online.

Q: When did you get into working out?

A: I started training 3 years ago. I have put on some weight and had started to feel down with myself and once I found fitness it was onwards and upwards from there.

Q: When and why did you start your online coaching business?

A:  I have always admired and looked up to the fitness influencers on social media. I have always aspired to be like them. As soon as I finished year 12 VCE and didn’t get the ATAR that I feel I worked for I turned to my true passion of fitness and made it my full-time dream job! To be honest with you starting up my own business was scary. I had to invest all this money that I didn’t really have into getting my qualifications but after a few months of consistent hard work it did pay off and the clients started to flow in. Fast forward almost 1 year later I am absolutely obsessed with my girls and my business. I love helping women fall in love with themselves again. Getting back that confidence and seeing them smile just makes what I do so so worth it.

Q: What are your favourite aspects of your business?

A: My favourite thing about the business I have created is the fact that I have built it from the ground up. So, being able to watch it evolve and grow that little bit more every day is so rewarding. Being able to look back and see how far I have come. I’d probably have to say I pride myself in the amount of support that I give to my girls and the time I allocate to each client. I am grateful that I am able to build a relationship with each and every one of them. It just feels like having a million different girlfriends to talk to each day.

Q: What do you do in your time off?

A: For a girl like me there is no off time. I’m the type of girl who can’t sit still. I always have to do be doing something. My guilty pleasure would probably be Netflix and snuggles with my fur babies at night time.

Q: What’s your advice to girls getting into the gym?

A: NEVER GIVE UP! Get a coach who you resonate with and who you feel could help you best and most importantly understand that results don’t happen overnight.

Q: How often do you work out?

A: I train religiously 6 times a week with 1 rest day! Life without training just doesn’t hit the same.

Q: What would you eat/drink on your ultimate cheat day?

A: If you ask any of my clients they would all happily tell you that at Lfbodies we don’t use the word “cheat” because food is seen to be enjoyed in moderation. There is no cheating when it comes to living a balanced lifestyle.

I teach all my girls that you can in fact eat all the things that you love and still see results. My ultimate “cheat day” would be just like any other day because the food I eat daily, keep me satisfied and the fact that I know I can incorporate the foods I love most into my day is the best.

Q: What’s your best client result that made you feel proud?

A: I have a couple of girls that I have in mind especially. The main thing that makes me proud the most is their ability to adapt and change and embrace change. For me as a coach, it’s not necessarily always the physical results but the mental results. The way that their mindset and shifted. When mindset changes so do you.

Q: What’s your favourite way to activate your glute muscles?

A: My all-time favourite activation for the glutes are machine abductors (leaning forwards) of course.

Quickfire round:

Squats or deadlifts?

Deadlifts for sure.

Scrunch bum leggings or seamless leggings?

Scrunch always!

Night in or night out?
